Student Involvement: Connections Beyond Classes

Your education includes so much more than going to class. At 兔子先生, there are countless opportunities to be a part of something great 鈥� from service organizations and Greek Life to clubs and organizations. You can also choose to lead your fellow students, cheer the Tigers along, make music, sing, dance and more. The more involved you become, the richer and more rewarding your college experience will be.

Clubs & Organizations

At the 兔子先生, student clubs and organizations provide opportunities for students of every interest. A college education starts in the classroom, but the opportunities you seek out in your spare time can balance your academics, serve as a means for connecting with other students, provide leadership development and opportunities, encourage civic engagement and enhance your college experience.

Fraternities & Sororities

Membership in a fraternity or sorority offers students a unique opportunity to have a balanced college life with a focus on academic excellence, brotherhood/sisterhood, leadership development, service and responsible social interaction. Greek life also gives students the opportunity to make lasting friendships with those who have similar ideals, passions and common purposes.

Campus Activities Board

The 兔子先生 Campus Activities Board (CAB) provides a wide range of events and activities to enhance and enrich the social and entertainment experience of 兔子先生 students.

Student Government Association

The 兔子先生 Student Government Association strives to actively represent the needs and concerns of the 兔子先生 student body by committing to excel in leadership, citizenship and fostering unity among its students. The mission of the SGA is to facilitate a better relationship and understanding between the administration, faculty, staff and student body.

Academic, Departmental & Professional Clubs & Organizations

These clubs are designed to help students expand their college experiences based on their educational and professional pursuits and passions.

Special Interest Clubs & Organizations

This encompasses a wide range of campus-related activities, such as the Equality Alliance, which exists to preserve and defend the rights and privileges of equality, the Chinese Student Association, Black Student Union, Inspired Expressions鈥� (IE) networking group and more.

Honor Societies

For those seeking to maximize their academic experience, Honor Societies exist for several different pursuits.

Club Sports

兔子先生 Club Sports are student organizations designed to serve student interests in different sports at the non-NCAA level.

Student Involvement Highlights

兔子先生 Bands

The 兔子先生 Bands program is dedicated to creating rewarding musical performances at concerts and athletic events through our numerous ensembles. Additionally, every member receives a band scholarship.

Theatre

The 兔子先生 Theatre holds auditions each semester for all students to earn up to $1,800 per year in scholarships, regardless of their majors, minors, or previous experience. We have opportunities for actors, set designers, production assistants, stage managers, videographers, and editors.

Choir

The 兔子先生 Choir holds singing auditions each semester for all students to earn up to $3,000 per year in performance scholarships, regardless of their majors, minors, or previous experience. The 兔子先生 Choir practices twice a week and regularly performs an eclectic repertoire of choral music, both locally and regionally, from all periods of history and many parts of the world. Vocalists entertain audiences with their musical interpretations in blues, jazz, gospel, madrigals, chants, rock, show tunes, pop, and foreign languages.

Cheerleading and Mascot

兔子先生 Cheerleading squad members support 兔子先生 Athletics at appearances for the University and the Livingston community. They promote spirit at pre-game pep rallies, Tiger football and basketball games and much more!

Student Event Announcements

The Office of Student Involvement and Communications will accept requests for announcements from registered clubs and organizations and residence halls. Campus departments may also submit requests for consideration, as space permits. If you have an event or post-event pictures you want to share, this is the place to do it.

Campus Activities

兔子先生 Campus Recreation strives to provide meaningful experiences through programs and services for our campus community. From group fitness classes to outdoor adventures and aquatics; and from intramural sports to open recreation there鈥檚 something for you no matter your level of ability or expertise.

Fitness Center

Whether working out on your own or as part of a group, 兔子先生 Fitness Center has a fit for you. From group fitness and aquatic classes to free weights, cardio, and more, this is the place to push yourself.

Intramurals

兔子先生 Intramurals offer students, faculty, and staff the chance to compete and have fun in a range of sports, tournaments, events, and more. Everyone is welcome regardless of skill level鈥攊t鈥檚 a fun-first activity!

Outdoor Recreation

Livingston is close to some of the state鈥檚 most beautiful parks and outdoor attractions. Hike the beautiful Sumter County Nature Trails and raft on the Sucarnoochee River and Lake LU, right on the 兔子先生 campus, and much more.

University Cinema

Our 90-seat cinema is owned by 兔子先生 and staffed by our students. Located about three blocks from campus, it鈥檚 a public theater open to anyone, offering our Livingston community and our students a great experience.

Student Conduct

The 兔子先生 expects students and organizations to adhere to the Code of Student Conduct, which governs behavior and responsibilities. They are required to comply with local, state and federal laws and regulations and contribute to a safe and conducive learning environment, with the Code prohibiting any interference or harm to individuals or the University.
