Office of Institutional Effectiveness & Research

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Research (OIER) provides the data, assessment, and planning support needed to advance the University’s mission and goals. Through comprehensive data collection, analysis, reporting, and university-wide assessment, the office helps guide strategic decision-making and foster continuous improvement. These efforts strengthen the University’s ability to deliver high-quality academic and non-academic programs, services, and activities for its students.

Planning and Assessment

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness & Research (OIER) supports a university-wide culture of evidence by helping academic programs and administrative units plan strategically, assess outcomes, and use data to drive continuous improvement.

Each year, academic programs and administrative units complete Annual Reports using standardized ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú templates. Reports are submitted electronically through the Qualtrics Annual Report Submission Portal and are evaluated as part of the University’s institutional effectiveness process. The annual review cycle helps programs and units assess performance, identify opportunities for improvement, align with the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Strategic Plan, and demonstrate accountability for accreditation and institutional quality.

OIER provides templates, guidance, training, and consultation to support faculty and staff throughout the assessment process. The Institutional Effectiveness Resources Card in TigerHub serves as the University’s central repository for planning and assessment resources, including Annual Report templates, the OIER Handbook, reporting guides, important deadlines, and other assessment materials. Faculty and staff are encouraged to access the IE Card regularly for the most current resources and announcements.
