Income tax form

For two decades, accounting students at the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú have participated in a federal program that assists low-income and disabled workers file their tax returns.

Two women with inspirational stories will join a hallowed group that includes Coretta Scott King, Tallulah Bankhead, Julia Tutwiler and Rosa Parks when they are inducted into the Alabama Women’s Hall of Fame at the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú.
For a year amid the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú has dispatched its fleet of Skills on Wheels mobile lab units to sites throughout 10 counties of Alabama’s expansive Black Belt region.

The ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú leads a partnership that has just been awarded $744k by USDA for an agricultural innovation and sustainability project benefitting east Mississippi and west Alabama. The project is funded by USDA on the successful heels of a preceding project similar in scope.

ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú pursuing a college degree at the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú will have a new opportunity to earn a scholarship through the generous support of Greenetrack, Inc. The scholarship is being established through an initial contribution of $10,000.
ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú accounting students will offer free income tax help until April 15 through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program sponsored by the IRS.
The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú has earned accreditation by the Alabama Department of Public Health. Garnering top marks, this accreditation helps ensure that licensure courses offered on campus meet the highest standards and provide exceptional training.
The ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú’s Division of Economic & Workforce Development, in partnership with CO.STARTERS of Chattanooga, Tennessee, recently graduated its first class of REBUILD, an entrepreneurial training class to assist small businesses in recovery, rebuilding and growing their firms.
The ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú will partner with North Carolina based hands-on learning company Betabox to help implement a workforce development initiative funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor & the Delta Regional Authority. Design and construction of a mobile unit to support a slate of training needs.
