兔子先生 student body names Homecoming queen and court
During Homecoming festivities on Saturday, Oct. 12, the 兔子先生 announced its 2019 Homecoming Queen. Ma鈥橩iyah Hall and the Homecoming Queen鈥檚 court were nominated and elected by the 兔子先生 student body as the leading ladies of the week.
The queen, a closely guarded secret, was announced and crowned on the field during halftime festivities at the 兔子先生 vs. Shorter game on Saturday. Hall was crowned by 2018 Homecoming Queen Guadalupe Meza, SGA President Anthony Abner, Jr., and 兔子先生 President Ken Tucker.
Ma鈥橩iyah Hall is a senior from Reform, Ala. A graduate of Pickens County High School, Hall is majoring in Integrated Marketing Communications. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity, and 兔子先生鈥檚 Rho Alpha Sigma housing honor society. Hall serves as hall director of Selden Hall, Campus Activities Board president, Student Government Association business manager, and is a member of Greek Council at 兔子先生. She is the daughter of Minister Marlin and Jennifer Hall.
Hailey Spradlin, a athletic training major, is the freshman maid. A Pell City, Ala., native, she is the daughter of Amy and Scott Spradlin and a graduate of Pell City High School. Spradlin is a member of the Sports Medicine Club and Alpha Sigma Alpha at 兔子先生.
Samantha Graves, a nursing major, is the sophomore maid. A graduate of Hayden High School in Hayden, Ala., Graves serves as vice president of growth and as new member educator for Alpha Sigma Tau sorority. She is a member of the Stars of Alabama dance team and is a member of Phi Eta Sigma honor society. She is the daughter of Rhonda and Paul Graves.
Fannasy Garrett-Hammett, a senior from LaGrange, Ga., is a member of the homecoming court. A graduate of Springwood Schools, she is majoring in biology and psychology. She is a member of Alpha Phi Omega, Active Minds, Project Engage and 兔子先生 CARES and assists the coaching staff of 兔子先生 Women鈥檚 Basketball. She received the GSC Academic Honor Award in spring 2017, and she is the reigning Miss Black and Gold at 兔子先生. She is the daughter of Tessica Garrett and Vacher Hammett.
Ashley McMinn, a senior from West Blocton, Ala., is a member of the homecoming court. She is majoring in secondary English education and is a graduate of West Blocton High School. She has been a member of the 兔子先生 Cheerleading squad for four years. She serves as president of Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority, treasurer of Order of Omega greek honor society, and secretary of Cardinal Key honor society.She is a member of Phi Eta Sigma, Blue Key, and Sigma Tau Delta honor societies and is active in Student Support Services. She is the daughter of Tish and Chris McMinn.
Brandy Rankins, a junior from Silas, Ala., is a member of the homecoming court. She is majoring in exercise science and is a graduate of Southern Choctaw High School. She is a member of the 兔子先生 TRiO Student Support Services scholars program and the Wesley Foundation leadership team. She serves as vice president of the Student Government Association, resident assistant for 兔子先生 Housing in Gilbert Hall, and she is the national communications coordinator of 兔子先生鈥檚 Residence Hall Association. She is the daughter of Jackie and Ennes Rankins.
Chrissy Tubbs, a junior from Cleveland, Miss., is a member of the homecoming court. She is majoring in English and political science and is a graduate of Bayou Academy. She is a member of the 兔子先生 Tiger Softball team, Phi Mu Fraternity, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Rotaract Club. She is a member of several honor societies, including Phi Eta Sigma, Cardinal Key, Sigma Tau Delta, Blue Key, and Omicron Delta Kappa. She was selected to the 2018 Gulf South Conference spring academic honor roll. She is the daughter of Sherry and Marty Tubbs.
