Combining hefty doses of college advising and tough love, Dr. Mary Hanks and two of her ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú colleagues in January will embark on a mission to help female students of color not only adjust to life on campus, but also succeed.

The ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú’s spring graduates from the Ira D. Pruitt Division of Nursing have all now completed the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for Registered Nurses with a 100 percent first-time pass rate for the spring graduating class.

The ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú has been awarded a $2.4 million grant from Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) to provide nursing student scholarships over the next five years. Project EARN will provide scholarships for up to 50 qualifying students in the Ira D. Pruitt Division of Nursing each semester, with $3,000 awarded up to four semesters.
