The ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú will honor more than 800 graduates during fall commencement exercises Saturday, Dec. 8. The undergraduate ceremony begins at 10 a.m. in Pruitt Gymnasium on the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú campus. The graduate ceremony will begin at 1:30 p.m., also at Pruitt Gymnasium. Presidential Receptions will be held prior to each ceremony and are open to all graduates and their guests at 8 a.m. and noon in the Bell Conference Center.
The ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú’s Julia Tutwiler Library and Office of Alumni Affairs will co-host a book talk by author and historian Dr. James P. Pate at the library from 5:30-7 p.m. after the football game against Delta State University on Saturday, October 13. The public is invited to attend this free event. A wine and cheese reception will follow the reading, and Pate will sign copies that will be available for sale.
Glen Bridges can find his name on several prestigious rosters at the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú, and now one of the newest facilities on campus will bear his name. The newly-renovated auditorium at Wallace Hall will be dedicated at a ribbon cutting ceremony on Aug. 30 at 2 p.m. The community is invited to join the campus in celebrating Bridges’ legacy at the University.
ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú professor and athletic trainer Dr. R.T. Floyd recently received the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) Research and Education Foundation’s Lifetime Contribution Award.

ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú in the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú’s welding certificate program recently received a boost of confidence when officials from a national shipbuilding operation visited campus to assess their skills. When tested, 75 percent of the students passed the test and were offered a job with Huntington Ingalls Industries.

ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú students get hands-on skills training as part of their education, making them ready to enter the work place already trained immediately upon graduation.

The ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú will honor more than 500 graduates during spring commencement exercises on Saturday, May 5, during two ceremonies. Both ceremonies will be held in Pruitt Gymnasium on the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú campus, with presidential receptions open to all graduates and their guests held prior to each ceremony.
