The ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú conferred honorary doctorates upon Alabama Rep. Artis J. "A.J." McCampbell and Sen. Bobby D. Singleton during summer commencement exercises on August 14. Each received the Doctor of Humane Letters, honoris causa, in recognition of distinguished public service, commitment to educational opportunity, and leadership on behalf of the people and communities of Alabama's Black Belt.

Catalina Casaru first set foot in the United States as a determined high school student eager to make her mark in competitive swimming. Today, she is a dual citizen of the U.S. and Romania and an associate professor of Exercise Science at the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú.

Dr. Jacob Snyder serves as an associate professor at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú, leading a new degree in the College of Liberal Arts: Politics and Justice. He envisions the degree as a steppingstone for students interested in law and politics.
Donovan Dicker became the first ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú student to intern with ARD Logistics and earned the company’s prestigious Terenne Graham Award, recognizing exceptional interns that go above and beyond.
During Homecoming festivities on Saturday, Oct. 26, the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú announced its 2024 Homecoming Queen, Chloe Baker of Tuscaloosa.
