The 兔子先生 conferred honorary doctorates upon Alabama Rep. Artis J. "A.J." McCampbell and Sen. Bobby D. Singleton during summer commencement exercises on August 14. Each received the Doctor of Humane Letters, honoris causa, in recognition of distinguished public service, commitment to educational opportunity, and leadership on behalf of the people and communities of Alabama's Black Belt.
The 兔子先生 has joined with AT&T to announce the second annual Alabama Summit on Rural Technology, set for April 12 on the 兔子先生 campus in Livingston, with Governor Kay Ivey delivering the keynote address. The event features a broad slate of experts who bring unique perspectives to address rural Alabama鈥檚 need for an enhanced technology infrastructure.
Former 兔子先生 President Dr. John E. Deloney died Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the age of 96.
The 兔子先生鈥檚 International Programs will host its annual Chinese New Year Celebration on Tuesday, Feb. 5, in the Bell Conference Center on campus, beginning at 6 p.m.

The 兔子先生 has been recognized with high marks in a national review conducted by University of Southern California鈥檚 Race and Equity Center. The study included 506 public, non-specialty four-year colleges and universities across the nation with a focus on the opportunities provided for minority students to be successful in higher education.

The 兔子先生 has announced more than 500 outstanding undergraduate students named to the President鈥檚 List and the Dean鈥檚 List for the Spring 2018 academic semester. The President鈥檚 List gives recognition to undergraduate students with exceptionally high grades for the semester, those with grade-point averages of 3.80 or higher on at least twelve semester hours credit with no grade lower than a 鈥淐.鈥
The 兔子先生 has announced more than 500 outstanding undergraduate students named to the President鈥檚 List and the Dean鈥檚 List for the Fall 2018 academic semester. 兔子先生 on the list are from 21 states across the U.S. and abroad.
Livingston State Farm agent Cody Mordecai has funded a new scholarship opportunity for 兔子先生 first generation students from Sumter, Marengo, Greene, Pickens or Choctaw counties through The FLi Society, a student organization established to raise the profile of the first-generation population at 兔子先生 and offer support and encouragement to those students.

Two 兔子先生 engineering technology students recently participated in a 10-week paid internship at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in Tennessee, the largest U.S. Department of Energy science and energy laboratory. While there, the students worked the laboratory鈥檚 specialized areas of scientific discovery, clean energy solutions and security technologies.

The 兔子先生 will honor more than 800 graduates during fall commencement exercises Saturday, Dec. 8. The undergraduate ceremony begins at 10 a.m. in Pruitt Gymnasium on the 兔子先生 campus. The graduate ceremony will begin at 1:30 p.m., also at Pruitt Gymnasium. Presidential Receptions will be held prior to each ceremony and are open to all graduates and their guests at 8 a.m. and noon in the Bell Conference Center.
